FAQs

Are your products suitable for vegetarians?

Yes. All of our products are suitable for vegetarians.

Are your products suitable for vegans?

All of our table sauces, dressings and hot sauces are vegan and our sriracha mayonnaise is also vegan. Olive, Avo & Classic aren’t vegan

Are your products suitable for children?

Definitely. Dr Will's products are made without refined sugar, and our recipes have less sugar than the market leaders.

Are all of your products gluten free?

Yes, absolutely. All of our products are gluten free.

Do your products contain added sugar or salt?

We don't add refined sugar to any of our products as we don't believe it's necessary. We think our products taste delicious as they are. We do use dates and date syrup to sweeten our sauces if needed, and this means our recipes have less sugar than the market leaders. There is some salt in our products, but we use less than the market leaders.

Why don't you have a low-fat mayonnaise?

Although low-fat mayonnaises contain less calories and fat than regular mayonnaise, the fat is often replaced with artificial ingredients to improve the taste and texture. At Dr Will's, we don't want to add artificial ingredients to our products, so we keep it as is. Plus, we think it's better to choose a product made with proper ingredients and packed with good fats, over something unnatural and full of nasties.

I’m pregnant, can I have your mayonnaise?

Yes, because we use pasteurised eggs in all of our mayonnaises (except our Sriracha Mayonnaise, which is egg free). Pasteurisation kills harmful bacteria so is safe for pregnant people to consume.

Who is Dr. Will/Why are you called Dr. Will’s?

We are named Dr. Will’s after one of our founders, Dr. William Breakey.

Dr. Will’s invention of his first product, all-natural Tomato Ketchup, was his reaction to constant tales from his patients about having to lather unhealthy ketchup on kids’ food to get them to eat ‘well’. The Great Ketchup Bribery.

What he stumbled upon was that in keeping things as natural, simple and unprocessed as possible you could also deliver great taste: a real ‘light-bulb’ moment for the foodie Dr. Will, and all by simply going back to how things used to be made, before the days of ultra-processing.

So, he set to work to make other staples in the same way, applying his thinking to favourites like mayo and barbecue sauce.

As the business has grown, he’s hired some really clever foodies who share his vision to help him invent what is now a growing range of award-winning condiments, all made using only natural ingredients and minimally processed.

Are your products dairy free?

Yes, absolutely. All of our products are dairy free.

My mayonnaise has split/turned oily.

Separation is natural… our mayo is natural which means it might split if it’s not stored correctly. This can happen if it’s exposed to really cold temperatures (it can happen at the back of your fridge - it's really cold back there). To avoid this, we advise you store your mayo at room temperature until it's opened. Once opened, pop it straight into the condiment shelf in the fridge door.

What do you use to sweeten your sauces?

We use ZERO refined sugar in our products. We sweeten ours with dates and date syrup instead.

As a source of fructose, a natural type of sugar found in fruit, dates contain some essential vitamins (vitamin B) and minerals (potassium, magnesium, copper, manganese and iron) - plus a significant amount of fibre.

Do you use free-range eggs in your mayonnaise?

Yes, our we only use free range eggs in our mayos.

Where are your products made?

Our products are made right here in the UK!

Can I buy Dr. Will’s in-store?

Yes you can! You can find our product in-store and online at Tesco, Waitrose, Coop,
Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

Why do you use Avocado Oil in your Avocado Oil Mayonnaise?

We know that some of our customers don’t want to consume rapeseed oil in their diets, so we developed an alternative mayo for them. The Avocado Oil brings a different flavour vs. our classic mayo, which we love. Our Avocado Oil Mayonnaise is also suitable for those following a Keto diet.
