Barbecued Prawns

Dr Will's Beetroot Ketchup Goat's Cheese Penne Pasta

Fire up the barbecue, next week is set to be a scorcher. These prawns take mere minutes to prepare but taste delicious thrown on the barbecue or under the grill, as a summery starter served with creamy garlic mayonnaise or as part of your mega spread this bbq season.

Our BBQ Sauce is the ideal base for a marinade, whether it’s chicken, prawns or sizzling steaks, it’s packed with juicy tomatoes and a wonderful smoky flavour, the ultimate accompaniment to any barbecue this summer.

Ingredients:

1-2 packs raw prawns (depending on how many you’re feeding)

Wooden skewers

1-2 tbsp Dr Will’s BBQ Sauce

2 cloves garlic, crushed

Juice of ½ a lemon

1 tbsp olive oil

Method:

Soak the skewers in water for 20 minutes to ensure they don’t burn on the barbecue.

Meanwhile, make the marinade for the prawns. Combine Dr Will’s BBQ Sauce, the garlic, lemon and olive oil with a good pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well, and place over the prawns in a dish ensuring they’re all covered. Leave to marinate in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.

Thread the prawns onto the skewers and coat with any leftover sauce from the bottom of the dish.

Place the prawns on the barbecue and grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the prawns are pink and opaque. Serve immediately with more Dr Will’s BBQ Sauce for dipping.
