Sriracha Black Bean Burger

A spicy twist on a classic vegan black bean burger starring our Sriracha sauce.


1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, diced
350g quinoa, cooked
600g black beans
100g bread crumbs
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp cumin

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp tomato paste
1 tsp Dr. Will's Sriracha

To serve: burger buns, leafy greens, avocado, tomato slices & extra sriracha


  1. Heat oil in a pan over a medium heat, add onion & saute for about 5–7 mins.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, maple syrup, soy sauce, tomato paste & sriracha and mix to make glaze.

  3. Using a food process mix onions, quinoa, black beans, breadcrumbs & spices. Pulse for 10 secs at a time, until about half the mixture is combined.

  4. Form 4 round large balls, making sure to pack the balls together well. Flatten each ball into a patty & smooth any cracks along the edges.

  5. In a separate pan, heat oil, add patties & cook for 5 mins or until browned. Flip patties & cook for 5 more mins & brush with glaze.

  6. Serve in your burger buns & added extras!
